After my Pergas class, I dragged Ayie to Arab Street. A good reason I gave to go there was to get Kak Kas' birthday present (her birthday is tomorrow).
I wanted to check out the new boutique at Haji Lane called Ova, selling clothes for Muslimah. It's just a month-old boutique. There was not much of a variety, but definitely, different and unique tops and skirts.
I fell in love with the A-line skirts the moment I entered the boutique. Floral, chiffon, denim skirts! How much? 59 bucks! I will never spend that much on an A-line skirt, cos it's so easy to sew them on your own. Well...I did make a stupid buy last year on a local designer label, wrap, brown and black reversible skirt, which cost me $79. And I've never worn it once!
I tried on the $69 floral chiffon skirt, $59 floral black skirt and a $39 brown hipster skirt. The chiffon skirt was a no-no. The brown skirt was too short for a hipster and lacks the flair that an A-line skirt should have.
Ayie wanted to buy for Kak Kas the brown one, until I convinced him to get the floral black skirt, which I was still contemplating to buy. Wished I had my Clie then, to check if I could spend more.
I know I will keep thinking about the skirt for days...so I grabbed 2 for my sis-in-law and for myself. The most that they could give was a 10% discount. Ayie paid $100 and I topped up the balance, with the intention to pay him later. Told the owner to put in 2 bags cos the other one's for my sis-in-law. She mistook my brother for my husband, and thought the skirt was for his sister! Goodness...I shall not go out alone with my brother!
Sent me home as usual, and I said to my bro, that I will transfer the money to his account. And he said "Tak payahlah." Am I hearing the right thing?!!! My brother has never bought me a gift at all for no reason! Hmm...told him to repeat what he said and yes, I paid $6 for the skirt! Went home feeling so contented! (But...I just realised. I have not bought a present for Kak Kas yet!)
