Last night was our company's dinner, initially meant to celebrate our teaching staff dedication. But what the heck..we decided to hold it for all staff.
I started getting busy, loading and unloading stuff, running here and there from 3pm. At 4.30pm, my manager and I made our way to The Legends (Fort Canning Park). His car has never been that full with stuff - lucky draw prizes, door gifts, etc. He, as usual, was very concern about his Nissan car.
At 7pm, we are all set for the event, praying hard that everything will go smoothly as planned. The staff was more sporting that we had expected. The teachers, especially wore Arabian costumes (the theme for the event). They had veils on, with beaded strings around their heads (whatever you call them), flair shimmery skirts, black jubah, ala Cleopatra, and many more. The guys in our company - one of them ended up looking up like Ali Baba and another like an Afghan man (but with "capal"). They look good though!
They enjoyed the games - scavenger hunt, let's go nuts (where you have to clip your body with peanut shells), limbo rock. And of course, what's a dinner without a Lucky Draw. The lucky draw got more attractive when The Legends gave us four 2 days 1 night package at The Legengs, Johore and $50 voucher for The Legends, Fort Canning. Too bad..I didn't win any. But!!!! My GM decided to give me and another colleague, a
2 days 1 night stay package at The Legends, Johor. Woohoo!!!
We ended later than expected, at about 11pm. The organising committee had to pack our stuff to load into the car. Took less than an hour to do that. Was seriously tired, but after much persuasion from my colleagues, I joined them for a "lepak" session at Mr Bean's. It was a weekday night, but the place was so packed! We had one round of smoothies, few rounds of stupid jokes, riddles and games (which I still cant get!).
My mobile rang amidst the laughters. Oopppss...it's 1am! That's a cue for me to leave. Received an sms straight after the phone call...my boss? who was sitting right in front of me? He told me I could come into the office later. Which I did this morning..1 1/ hrs later than usual. Best nya!
Took a cab home again. That's the last time..no more cabs for the next 2 weeks. (I hope!)
