Last night, while I walking to Hafiz's office, I heard a sweet voice saying "Excuse Me..Excuse Me (pronounced: excusu me)." I turned and there were 2 Japanese (mother-daughter). Initially, the 20-ish daughter asked me "Seiyu? where?" then she gave up and said in mixed Japanese and English.
This was my chance! I answered her in Japanese. I only remembered what's left and right in Jap, forgot what is straight! Surprised, she then asked me whether I am local. "Haik! I am." While walking, the daughter said "You very cute neh!"
(kembang aku!) and mentioned that my Japanese is good. Flattered, I bowed down slightly
(macam paham je!). Along the way, the mother asked what's this place, what's that place in Japanese. Lucky thing I know the places in Middle Road!
When I had to leave them on their own, I got to say my favourite word "Ki o tsukete neh" which means take care! It just sound cute! hehe..
Not practising Jap for the last 5 years, having a native Japanese to understand every single word you say, it really is an achievement! Alhamdulillah. It certainly made my day yesterday!
