MY OWN ADVICE

Earlier today, I gave an advice to a friend, when asked "why do such bad things happen in my life? I know things happen for a reason, but I'm still trying to find that reason!"

I said, amongst other things:

"Cliche, but indeed you are right. Things do happen for a reason. Sometimes you can't help it, but question life itself. Though we are not supposed to cos Allah is All-Knowing. He knows that you are capable of facing such tests in your life. You never know what better things that might come after this. Allah wants to make you a stronger person. And moreover, whatever happens in our lives, serves as a kaffarah, a chance that Allah gives us to cleanse us of our past sins...."

After I said that, I thought to myself....how come sometimes I don't even give myself such advice when I need them! I just refuse to listen to myself, the rational, logical side of me. How ironic!
