OUT OF TOWN

15 & 16 June

I was in Batam for a staff retreat. The first day was purely training, which was refreshingly fun and hilarious compared to the previous years' training. BBQ dinner that night, at the jetty was almost romantic with the great live music playing love songs from the 70s, dim lighting, vast view of the sky, no concrete buildings covering the stars.

I had a suprisingly peaceful sleep except when one mosquito whoozing pass my ear, but I was in dreamland immediately after shooing it away. My partner, Lily, was busy being a mozzie-buster..hehe.

The 2nd day was a bit disappointing cos we didn't get to go to Megamall, which is where A&W and J Co donuts (Indon's version of Dunkin Donuts..to me, it tastes better than DD) are. Instead, we went to Batam City Square - BCS (pronounced as Bay-Cheh-S there!)...where there are no A&W and J Co. I only bought 2 tops that's all!

The highlight of the day for me was...I saw a pink dolphin right in front of my eyes while my colleagues and I were just lazing around at the long jetty. Too bad, it was too fast and didnt manage to capture it on video or camera. People pay to watch pink dolphins in Batam. I think our screams of excitement hampered its freedom to catch some air again:p

Reached SG around 8pm, and had to pack my bag for KL trip.

17 - 20 June

Left on Transtar Premium double-deck bus with my partner-in-crime and my younger bro at 8.30am. Mum had left earlier on Friday for the wedding. Looking forward to a 4-hr massage, movies and food on board the bus. Having all those, really is useful. The 4-hr journey wasn't draggy at all. Alighted at Petronas Sungai Besi where Ayie fetched us and made our way to Blakong for my aunt's wedding.

Love the green theme for the wedding..soothing! Ramli Sarip, an uncle's friend, dropped by and sang Camelia for the bride and groom. Was like a mini concert!

In the evening, we left for The Zon (formerly known as Suite Stay Residences). The 2-bedroom apartment is huge! And walking distance to KLCC. Though I feel that staying near to Bt Bintang area is more convenient for me, being able to view Masjid As-Syakirin and the Petronas towers was a bonus.

Too bad, we didn't have the time to go to Putrajaya at night. A place I've never been to. Well, at least I had the chance to go to One Utama in Damansara, where I had the chance to eat at Baskin Robbins, pretzels (choc mint flavour, and parmesan cheese are yummy) and Cinnabon. We are so deprived of these great stuff here in SG!

And most importantly, my 8-months craving for lamb chop at Tarbush Restaurant was finally fulfilled. I ate every bit of it. And of course, A&W. Surprisingly, I only bought 2 tudung at Masjid India, no purchases in Petaling Street, more skirts than tops. Amazing! My $$$ mostly goes to FOOD!

Glad that this KL trip materialised. Now I know how talkative and smart my nieces (Cinta and Anggun) are!
